Music is central to our worship at First Church

Music provides an opportunity for us to come closer to God.  The musicians of First Church help to lead the congregation through worship by singing hymns, anthems, and playing a variety of music to the glory of god.  Music is a universal language that binds us all in our relationship with Jesus Christ.

Musical groups include a Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir, and a Brass Choir.  During the summer, we enjoy special music as shared by the talented members of our congregation and other community members of all ages and experiences.

First Church is also excited to bring in special musicians and put on special concerts as a part of our First Church ALIVE! Ensembles:

Chancel Choir

Our Chancel Choir is for adult singers who are high school aged and older. From September through May, we sing weekly at the 11:15 AM traditional service. We also occasionally have an all male and all female singing for special services and events.  All are welcome to join. 

Handbell Choir

Our Handbell Choir is open to all adults who can hold a bell.  We  perform for different services throughout the program year.  Sometimes we perform on our own, and other times with other ensembles here at First Church.

Brass Choir

Our Brass Choir is open to all adults high school aged and older that play a brass instrument. We perform both on our own and with other ensembles for different services throughout the year and cover a wide variety of genres from Baroque music to jazz!
